Summary
This pack includes various differentiated activities to develop pupils' skills when solving problems involving units of time. Pupils will think like a young referee and practise adding times and calculating the difference between two times while calculating with hours, minutes and seconds as well as times of the day.

Time to get up!
In order to check your pupils understanding of calculations involving time, encourage them to make three different football match timelines.
Pupils will first need to make time and match event cards by writing on pieces of paper or printing off the ones made by us here:

Then using the instructions on the activity sheets, add the key match events along the timeline and answer the questions.

Extra time: Match reports with time
Pupils will write a football match report based on the results of a Premier League football match from this season, using knowledge of adding and subtracting time.
