[Dr Alex George] Hi everyone, my name is Dr Alex George and I'd like to talk to you today about positive mental wellbeing.
I know this is a very difficult time for everyone, and it's been a tough year that we've had, but there are things that we can do, I think that can support our mental wellbeing.
First of all, and it sounds very, very obvious, but talk to people. Sharing how you feel with people might not only help you, but it also gives them the opportunity to talk and share how they feel.
And generally, people feel more positive if they're able to share in their feelings.
So talk, it really helps.
Stay connected. You know, we're not able to see people in the same way as we were before, but use technology. Whether it's FaceTime, Skype or social media, find ways to speak to people.
And reach out to those, especially that you haven't spoken to in a while.
There's never a better feeling than chatting to an old friend and catching up.
My third and final tip for today is to be kind, and care for people.
You know, now more than ever, people find this time hard.
And caring for other people, reaching out, supporting them during this time, is great for not only their mental health, but yours too.
I hope some of these top tips help, and yeah, we'll catch up very soon.
